The Carthage

Delivered in 1921, the Carthage is a monumental 8-story apartment building located at 2301 Connecticut Avenue. In 1987 it received the honor of being listed among the National Register of Historic Places, and to this day it remains one of the most beautiful exhibits of the Beaux-Arts architecture style.

The curvy triangular masterpiece is surrounded from all sides by lush and well-kept greenery, providing a quiet and rather intimate atmosphere for the residents. The exterior is rather reserved as well, but by no means plain, with a beige brick façade, spacious balconies and an impressive overhang roof.

The quaint and reserved style thoroughly permeates the building. Inside, there are only 28 units - almost all of which feature 2 bedrooms - ensuring a private and closely-knit community. The finishes are minimalistic and aesthetically pleasing, combining the historical value of the building with modern design and comfort standards. Hardwood floors, original moldings and authentic fireplaces give the Carthage a truly unique, traditional feel.

As the building is unobstructed by adjacent high rises, great views can be seen from all windows. For an even better panorama, the private roof deck is open to all tenants. And when business needs to get done, a club room and a conference space will serve all your needs.
